Currently registered participants and companies can still sign up for the LLS Corporate Team Challenge and receive VIP hospitality and other event perks; deadline for donations or secured sponsorships is Aug. 31, 2012
WASHINGTON, D.C. and SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Aug. 8, 2012 – One of the largest triathlons in the United States, Nation’s Triathlon To Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), introduced a new Corporate Team Challenge for the 2012 race and invites currently registered participants and companies to sign up for the program before the Aug. 31 deadline. The LLS Corporate Team Challenge celebrates teamwork and partnership as groups will work together for event weekend incentives and to support the work of LLS.
The international distance triathlon taking place Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012 in the nation’s capital features a 1.5k swim in the Potomac River, 40k bike course through downtown D.C., and a 10k run along Washington, DC’s monumental corridor and other historical landmarks. The Nation’s Triathlon has grown from a competition with less than 500 finishers in 2006 to being recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest international distance triathlon event in the nation.
The LLS Corporate Team Challenge is designed for companies and their employees to come together in a camaraderie-filled environment and support a life-saving cause. Companies can register three or more employees to participate on the team. Company donation levels are determined by the number of participants on the team and awards will be given to the top three sponsored teams and the top three fastest teams.
Event weekend incentives for those participating in the challenge include recognition on the LLS Corporate Team Challenge webpage, a meet and greet reception with Dave Scott, six-time Ironman World Champion, and national triathlon coach for LLS’s Team In Training, on the Saturday of event weekend, and a team photo at the host hotel. Additionally, teams will have access to the hospitality tent on race day and post-event services provided by physical therapists from Jackson Clinics. Teams of five or more participants will receive two company invitations to the VIP Top Fundraiser Reception on Friday night of event weekend.
