Job Description: Keep A Breast Canada is looking for a Community Relations Coordinator to establish and maintain relationships within the areas of the action sports, music, design, and art industries. This individual will have strong ties to these communities and will work on building and collaborating for Keep A Breast Canada on an ongoing basis.
Keep A Breast Canada is a registered charity. Our mission is to help eradicate breast cancer by informing young people about methods of prevention, early detection and support.
Through art events, educational programs and fundraising efforts we seek to increase breast cancer awareness among young people so they are better equipped to make choices and develop habits that will benefit their long-term health and well-being.
Responsibilities: • Attend events in the areas of action sports, music, design, and art to develop growth opportunities for Keep A Breast Canada • Bring fundraising opportunities to ski/snow & skate organizations within the Lower Mainland & the Sea to Sky Corridor • Work with KAB Foundation VP of PR/ Marketing for Canadian growth of existing action sports retail lines to further develop awareness of products in Canada • Work with Co-Founder/ Global CEO of KAB Foundation to develop new cause merchandise that is Canadian specific • Work alongside KABC Executive Director, to promote and grow Keep A Breast Canada • Create a database of artists within Vancouver & Vancouver Island for breast cast exhibits, secure support for KABC from Vancouver bands for tours, collaborations, and Travelling Education Booth opportunities • Develop relationships with media in these areas • Create relationships with galleries for future art shows • Work with local musicians and action sports athletes on building “This is My Story” breast cancer awareness videos for online growth of KABC • Attend all festivals and events with Travelling Education Booth as needed • Work closely with Executive Director to develop existing programs into Vancouver’s mainstream • Keep A Breast Original Art Events
Skills/Requirements: • Degree in Public Relations, Marketing or Communications preferred • Has experience in the fields of action sports, music, design, or art • Must have relationships in the actions sports, music, and art communities • Has lived in the Lower Mainland a minimum of 5 years • Exceptional communication and organizational skills • Excellent grammatical skills • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines • Dependable and able to work weekends if required • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment • Live healthy lifestyle, energetic and positive • Experience with social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Instagram • Love Boobies!
